Dear Passengers,
we are glad to inform you that Eurocity Thello Italy-France traffic between Milan and Nice will gradually run again as from June 4th with 2 couple of daily trains as indicated below:
§ 141/142: Milano (07.10) – Nizza (11.58)
§ 159/160: Milano (15.10) – Nizza (19.51)
§ 139/140: Nizza (08.01) – Milano (12.53)
§ 147/148: Nizza (18.06) – Milano (22.53)
As a consequence of the control measures imposed by the Covid-19 emergency, ticket with passenger name is now mandatory also to travel on Thello trains.
As provided for Trenitalia Long Haul trains – FRECCE, Intercity, Intercity Night and EC trains to/from Switzerland on the Italian territory – all passengers who buy a ticket to travel on Thello trains will have to provide the following elements during the purchase process:
§ name of traveler
§ surname of traveler
It is possible to change the name of the passenger up to 20 minutes before the train departure, even in case of tickets purchased with unchangeable commercial offers. The request can only be made by the purchaser, providing his personal details and those of the new holder. The name/surname change is allowed on all sales channels, with the following exceptions:
§ in case of travel solutions consisting of several trains in conjunction (e.g. EC Thello + FR Trenitalia) the change cannot be done on Self Services;
§ in case of travel solutions consisting of EC Thello + a Trenitalia Regional electronic ticket (BER), the change is currently not possible.
The change of name is not allowed on board the train. In case the data on the ticket do not correspond to those on the personal identity document, passengers will incur penalties.
